Last week we were practicing the special sound oi/oy. We have the lucky privilege to be able to use the Heidi Songs- Sounds Fun Phonics! She has songs that go with each special sound and it has worked wonders in our classroom!
Our song last week was called “Oi/Oy Piggy.” So I found this cute little activity from one of my favorite bloggers at The First Grade Parade!
After we talked about the special sounds and introduced the song we made an anchor chart with different oi/oy sounds.
After a student would think of a word, they could feed the apple to Porkchop, they LOVED it!
Then I put this response sheet in our word work station and they could feed Porkchop on their own and write down the words in the correct column!
