This month, I have a short list of books I read. I spent most of my free time staring at a blank wall 😂 or watching a new (to me) show on Netflix.
Can you believe I never watched the show SUITS? And now I’m os invested. It has cut into my reading time a bit, but that’s ok. I never put too much pressure on my reading because it’s for enjoyment. The minute I start to feel pressure to “read more” is the moment it takes the fun away. Don’t you agree?
This was an enjoyable book. I honestly didn’t know what I was getting into and I think that’s the best way to go into it. Here’s the simplest synopsis. Jasmin Yang is from a rural Chinese village, and was sold to a rich, controlling and abusive man at the age of 14. She finally escaped her husband to New York through a trafficking ring.
Rebecca Whitney is an executive at a publishing firm in NYC. She is married to a college professor and they have a daughter named FIfi.
Two women with two different lives will soon be connected.
This is a very well-written family drama, although could be pretty heavy at times. I read this as part of a book club, I know it would bring up great conversations about cultural differences, motherhood and courage.

Y’all! I loved this book. It was so cute, yet full of emotions. This is one you don’t want to skip out on.
It follows Clementine and Iwan, both at a crossroads in their lives and they meet in a magical apartment that jumps back and forth 7 years apart. I know it sounds a bit complicated but don’t let that stop you. It is the sweetest, most heart-warming story about finding yourself and pursuing happiness.

As we welcome the holiday season I have a few holiday books on my list. These are the ones I’m most looking forward to.
Which one should I read first?
Now, tell me what you’re reading! I love hearing book recommendations from you guys!
