All of this quarantining has us yearning for some normalcy and tradition. Easter baskets are always a fun way to engage the kiddos during a fun family time!
We really try to keep the focus on the real reason of Easter (I’ll share what we do for holy week in our house) but for now here is how we keep it fun with the kid’s baskets.
I rounded up a list of some of our current favs and some new items that iI’ll be adding in their baskets this year. Hopefully you’ll get some ideas for your kiddos.
Dangerous Book – We love the boy version, so Mia will be getting the girl version that talks about female heroes in history, friendship bracelets, double dutch, the perfect cartwheel and more!
Renegade Made Creative Paper Art Box – I thought this would be a perfect creative craft kit that will make your friends and neighbors laugh.
Play Doh Princess Kingdom – Every 5 year old girl loves play doh and princesses right?! So this is the perfect combination that will keep them busy for at least 30 minutes.
Matching Swimsuits – I’m a sucker for seersucker and when I found these swim suits I just couldn’t say no. They have the perfect classic look that we will appreciate for years to come. (Girls / Boys)
Kinetic Sand – This is a must for my messy girl. She loves digging in the dirt and making messes. Kinetic Sand is a nice addition to our sensory play time.
Kids Camera – This one looks like a great fit for little hands. They can take pictures or even video! A kid’s favorite for sure.
LCR & UNO – These are two simple and fun family games that’s easy to play and everyone is sure to have fun! I actually added this fun Pizza game to Maddox’s basket, hope he likes it!
Kid’s Goggles – I like to add a “need” or two and these are definitely a need for swimming during the summertime. The kids like diving toys and cannonballing so I like when they wear sturdy and reliable goggles to keep their eyes from turning blood shot after each swim.
Harry Potter – My oldest just recently got to watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and is now a “Potterhead”. The illustrated version has the entire family engaged during bedtime reading. It’s beautiful illustrations help being the amazing story to life!
Ticket to Ride – Maddox got this as a gift for Christmas and it’s quickly become his new favorite board game! It’s easy to learn and fun to play… and the best part it doesn’t take up 3 hours of your night.
Gameboy – Ok, it’s not a real gameboy but it’s the closest thing to it for only $20. My sister and I actually tested it out and we couldn’t stop playing. It brought back so many childhood memories of playing for hours and hours!!
If you’re looking for a fun way to give the baskets try a scavenger hunt! I got these adorable cards from Heidi at Happiness is Homemade. I know the kids are going to love looking for their baskets in the morning.
If you need some great Easter Books for kids, here are some of our favorites.
Hope you found some new ideas for your littles that will put a smile on their face. Hugs to you all!
