Let’s talk organization
You guys, in the classroom I was the Queen of Organization! There was so much that I needed at any minute that I needed it all ready to go. Well, my home… not so much. It’s a work in progress for sure! I wanted to start simple with my bathroom/vanity organization and these are the items that I used to jumpstart my tidy goals.
Where to Begin
Starting out the new year by decluttering is most important! Out with the old right?! Here are four easy steps to organizing your space.
- CLEAR IT OUT. Take every single thing out of the space you want to organize. Whether it’s a makeup drawer or your entire cabinet space in your bathroom. get it all out.
- CLEAN IT UP. This one is simple. Once everything is out you can see what little bits of trash, dust and everything else needs to be cleaned out. Wipe down shelves and sweep/vacuum the floors. This is also a good time to put in lining. Reminder: keep in mind the time frame of this project. There are many times I’ve started a project and hours later I’m wondering why I even started it. Set a goal, set a time and make note of your steps so you get it done in time.
- SORT THE STUFF. I always make three piles or boxes (thanks Amazon) Keep, Trash, Donate. Once you’ve done this immediately put trash in the outside trash can and your donate box in the car. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve put a “donate” box in the garage and it sits there for weeks. If I put it in my car right away I will more likely drop it off sooner when I’m out and about.
- STYLE YOUR SPACE. Obviously this is my favorite! Visualize your space and decide how you want everything to look, then tackle it! Put like-items together, label items and make it look pretty. 😉 Now sit back enjoy your hard work!
Items that can help
These are a few organization products that I’ve personally used and I think can help in your space as well.
- Pink Cosmetic Organizer – This one is great if you don’t have a lot of drawer or cabinet space. It’s a pretty, light pink and has ample space for your everyday make up, lipsticks, essential oils and even makeup brushes.
- Label Maker – Let’s be real here, I love labeling. This adorable little label maker is great for MANY things, but especially for labeling drawers and contents.
- Clear Stackable Drawers – I have these in three of our 5 bathrooms. They are simple, clean and they stack.
- Make Up Organizer – If you need more storage for makeup or even skin care this one is a beautiful turntable option.
- Clear Desk Drawer Organizers – I love the multiple size options you get with this set. You can also use in desk drawers, crafts or kitchen drawers.
- Clear Jar Containers – I love these jar containers for make up sponges, and many other small products you need.
- Clear Turntable – I use this under the sink for easy access to my multiple products that I want at my fingertips.
- Blush Rolling Cart – I love these carts, for many many reasons. But I thought this was a cute option for a vanity or storage.
Hope you guys get inspired and motivated to clear out and organize your space. I’d love to hear if you have any other great tips for this process.
Love you guys!
