I’ll tell you what I want what I really really want!
If you’re singing along with me, you’re my people! If you have no idea what I’m talking about then you need to spice up your life! 😜
Back to the topic at hand. I often get asked, what does a teacher want as a “back to school” gift.. and it’s hard to really answer. I mean, don’t get me wrong I would love to get clorox wipes, ticonderoga pencils and glue sticks in bulk but that’s just not in the cards for us. And as a parent, I feel weird “gifting” my child’s teacher something they need, rather than what they would want. I hope that makes sense. But here are a few ideas of what I would like and what I may gift my kid’s teachers this year.
Fill a jar with aspirin, hand sanitizer, a high-energy snack, stain remover pen, hand lotion, chewing gum and antacid. There you go, something each teacher will at least use once during the school year.
Every teacher loves Flair pens. Well, I mean the smart ones do. 😜 Just click the photo below to download your own copy of the tags.
This year I’m thinking of how hectic that first week of school can be and THIS idea from Lisa over at Over The Big Moon is BRILLIANT! I actually got this (from a teacher kid) a few years ago and it was the sweetest, most thoughtful idea because I definitely needed those 3 c’s. I recreated the tag and you’re welcome to download it for yourself by clicking the image below.
I am currently obsessed with these Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups from Trader Joe’s so I picked up a few extra boxes. I know the kid’s teacher’s, so I happen to know Sonic or Chick-Fil-A is a better choice for caffeine over Starbucks. Add the gift tag stick those gift cards and there you go! I left a little space at the bottom to write who it’s from. Please leave a comment below if you download and share your pic with me on Instagram. 🙂
Lisa also has this great idea that will save a teacher’s sanity when we are exhausted that first week back.
If you’re planning on sticking a gift card in a sweet note, you can never go wrong with a Target or Amazon gift card.
The only thing I would steer clear of is anything with an apple on it and no crayon wreath. My last piece of advice is be creative and be thoughtful. Any teacher will be grateful for anything just because you thought of them.
If you’d like to carry on the love throughout the year, send this little note to school. Once the teacher has completed it, take a picture of it (so it’s on your phone at all times). That way the next time you run into the convenience store for gum, grab a sweet treat for your kid’s teacher. It will make. their. day. Click the photo below to download a copy.
Happy shopping and have a great school year!
