Yes, a serious problem, my diaper bag is a mess! And I rarely clean it out because I feel like I’m going to need every. single. thing. in there. But do I? Do I?
Am I the only one that feels like this mom?
So I started by dumping everything out and really taking a look at what was even in that bag.
Prepare to cringe!
I know, I want to call Hoarders right now and tell them to come help me!
Here’s what’s inside…
Puffs
6 diapers (really)
a lovey
baby powder
baby book
aquaphor
shaker toy
3 sanitze wipes… 3!
2 packages of Boogie Wipes
wet wipes
fruit cup
fruit squeezie
teether
granola bar
baby spoon
diaper stinky bags
table toppers
sunglasses
missle (pool toy)
table topper stickies
sunglasses
baby tylenol
neosporin/bandaids
Ok, moms do I reeeally need all of these items for a 16 month old?
The answer is no… no I don’t! I had to rid myself of the clutter and start all over.
Now don’t get me wrong, being a first time mom I felt like I did need all of these items… for an infant. You never know what they’ll need, when they’ll need it, etc. Another note, this is just what works for me. Now that Maddox is older I don’t feel like I need ALL these things. So here’s what we did.
Step one. Order a really cute toddler backpack!
I ordered this adorable seersucker backpack from Shop Crystal Faye and I LOVE it! Of course, anything monogrammed is cute but this one takes the cake! This site also has a ton of creative gift ideas also. Go check it out!
Step two. Purge.
So here’s what I did.
I only put the essentials in the bag.
2 diapers
wet wipes
table toppers
puffs
fruit cup
fruit squeezie (food is always a neccesity)
one package of sanitize wipes
And in the front zipper some neosporin and bandaids. We do have boy. 🙂
Now don’t get me wrong, there will be accidents, emergencies and must-have moments. So what I decided was to have that “emergency bag” and leave it in the car. What I keep in that small bag are just a few more diapers, baby tylenol, diaper cream/powder and that is all.
At this point, I feel that if there is something that we really need and it’s not in the bag, we make do. Need a toy, grab a straw… improvise.
Thank you for letting me say what I needed, I don’t feel like a hoarder anymore.
Whew, I feel so much better! Clearing clutter can really ease your mind!
