I can’t believe how we can squeeze in so many events in three days.
So let me catch you up real quick. I’m from san Antonio, so my whole family lives there. Every few months my dad usually sets up an entire fun filled weekend with parties, baseball, concerts and all kinds of other craziness! We like being busy and we take our vacations and time together VERY seriously, we don’t like to waste one minute! Sooooo from start to finish here we go!
It all started in May, when my dad gave me my birthday present in the form of a piece of paper. Womp, womp right? But little did I know there was a huge surprise to come! I’ll let you read it!
Then when I opened the rest it was two tickets to see NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK! Now if you were born anywhere from 1980-1990 you KNOW and LOVE NKOTB! So we were so pumped to go back down memory lane when Mindy and I were just little brats (well littler brats) playing our New Kids VHS tape of their live concert in our living room with side pony tails and parachute shorts.
Yes, we had them.
And it gets better…. touring with them was 98 Degrees and Boyz 2 Men!!! Oh my goodness we were in 90’s heaven!
So we could not wait for June 28th to have a sissy night out, thanks to Daddy!
Me and Sissy making our way into American Airlines Center!
Yup… they closed all most of the men’s restrooms and turned them into women’s! Crazy and kinda yucky seeing urinals where they shouldn’t be. BUT there were practically NO lines which was pretty awesome!
Walking to our seats….. so exciting!!
Boyz 2 Men kicked butt! They were so awesome, I think my favorite of the night!
Wow, such an entertaining show!!
And yes, I give you permission to find New Kids on the Block Pandora station and jam out! You know you miss them!
We had such a blast Friday night but then we had to refuel for our fun filled Saturday!!
We started out the day by taking Maddox to the pool and we had a great time!
I promise he’s having fun. Maybe not for this picture.
Paw paw and Grandma!
The love birds!
This is what the boys did….
Aaaaand this is what the girls did!
Maddox & Daddy
Playing with Momma
M and Uncle Colton
This was M by the end of the day…..
“I’m done.”
After a good long nap we got ready for the Rangers game!
Our little baseball! lol
Ready to stay home with Grandma!
And off we went to see the Rangers vs. Reds!
When we got there we enjoyed some hot dogs, pretzels, nachos and peanuts!
THEN… we had another big surprise!
My dad actually got Captain (the Texas Rangers mascot) to come up to our seats and congratulate Mindy for completing her Master’s degree! He always has a trick up his sleeve!
After that we enjoyed the game (even though the Rangers lost).
And then we were anticipating the concert after the game…. Casey Donahew Band!
Well, guess what?! Dad had another trick up his sleeve and he had secretly gotten us all tickets to go down on the field and enjoy the concert! What?! Yes, it was awesome!
We had such a great time at the game and concert and by the end of the night… we were spent! But we did manage to look like total fools when we were daring each other to do random stuff on the walk to the car… (jump over that post, do a cartwheel, etc.) Then I told Colton to skip…. well after he did, Zach noticed his arms were too straight for skipping and he said, “Skipping with your arms straight is just like river dancing.”
Soooo I jumped in front of them all and said ok, all of ya’ll skip with your arms straight. This is what I saw!
You will literally laugh out loud!
Such dorks, but we sure did laugh all the way to the car!
We enjoyed our traditional brunch at Ihop before they got on the road Sunday morning.
All in all, it was an amazing weekend!
I love my family more than life itself… craziness and all!
God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
