Ok, ok, I know I’m super late with this post but I got a little sidetracked going to Disney World and celebrating my four year old! I hope you guys can find something that will float your boat!
First, Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham was super cute! I just love her and I can’t imagine anyone not liking her. This book is short, honest, fast-paced and hilarious! If you need an easy read that will make you smile and laugh out loud, this one’s for you!
Second, Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty was just ok. After reading Husband’s Secret and Little Big Lies (and now watching it on HBO) I fell in love with her! So I decided to try another one from Moriarty but I must say it fell a little flat. It was very slow and it took a while to develop the characters. It’s also pretty long so it took a little longer for me to complete. It was just ok. That’s it.
Third, was My Not So Perfect Life. This one really spoke to me because I often have trouble with feeling that total ENVY of my blogger buddies that just seem to have everything so perfectly! There’s a decent underlying message about how people feel compelled to make their lives look better than they are (especially on social media) and how that makes it harder for people to deal with the real ups and downs of their lives. There’s some humour, there’s some romance… all the right ingredients for a good read.
Finally, For the Love by Jen Hatmaker is an oldie but goodie. If you haven’t read one of Hatmaker’s books here’s what you need to know. She’s hilarious. She’s honest. She’s real. This book is very relatable and fun to read, she talks about so many relatable issues and keeps you laughing through it.
Happy Tuesday!
