It’s book review day! I am so pumped to share THREE genres with you.
This was an emotional read, I’m not sure how I felt about that. It dealt more with tragedy, death and grief, more than happiness and love!
Elsie meets the perfect love of her life, Ben. Their connection is instant and electric and a few months later, they are married.
Only 9 days later, Ben is out riding his bike and gets hit by a truck and is killed on contact. At the hospital she must face Susan, the mother in law she has never met.
Y’all how in the world do you recover from that?!
I appreciated the dual timeline and the storyline was excellent, although it dragged a bit and I didn’t love the writing. And now I can never look at Fruity Pebbles the same way again.

TERRI-FY-ING!
From the first page, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. Laura and Olivia are driving down a rural road, late at night on their way to a bonfire party. Then they realize they are being followed by a truck with two men wearing masks. After a little tailgating, the truck runs the girls off the road. The girls start to panic, and with no cell reception they realize they are in serious danger.
I was totally captivated from start to finish. This is one of those anxiety inducing books that makes you want to yell at the character for not doing something you expect. Like why would you go out without a fully charged phone? I’ll never know. I also found this to be a little too far fetched but I had to imagine this like an episode of Law & Order SVU, it may not be completely true but some or most of it could absolutely happen.

I’m so glad Book Club chose this one, it was on my list and it did not disappoint!
It’s the story of two women who discover they were born in the same hospital on the same day 45 years ago. After a forced meet up and a little chit-chat, Alix a journalist and podcaster thinks it will be a great subject for her podcast. Only to get much more than she bargained for.
This one had me second guessing throughout the entire book. It was very fast-paced and I really couldn’t out it down. The ending wasn’t quite as climactic as I’d hoped, but it was still a great read.
I might think twice the next time I meet a “birthday twin”.

The Women. If they say there weren’t any women in Vietnam, don’t believe the lie. They were there. This book was very well written, a heartbreaking account of the combat nurses that were in Vietnam.
I loved Frankie’s first-hand account of working in the field of Vietnam as a nurse. As the story progressed it got a little slow and mildly repetitive. But I still enjoyed it!!
