Things We Never Got Over | By Lucy Score
This book has my heart! This book was a breath of fresh air, it was so adorable and sweet. Knox, y’all! He truly made me fall for the small-town guy, with the kind spirit and big heart! I loved the coffee-loving main character, Naomi. She was such a likable character, you just want to punch her sister in the face for treating her the way she does. Overall, I LOVED the storytelling, banter, and especially the dialogue throughout this book. It’s a really cute book, I highly recommend it!
Synopsis: Bearded, bad-boy barber Knox prefers to live his life the way he takes his coffee: Alone. Unless you count his basset hound, Waylon. Knox doesn’t tolerate drama, even when it comes in the form of a stranded runaway bride.
Naomi wasn’t just running away from her wedding. She was riding to the rescue of her estranged twin to Knockemout, Virginia, a rough-around-the-edges town where disputes are settled the old-fashioned way…with fists and beer. Usually in that order.
Too bad for Naomi her evil twin hasn’t changed at all. After helping herself to Naomi’s car and cash, Tina leaves her with something unexpected. The niece Naomi didn’t know she had. Now she’s stuck in town with no car, no job, no plan, and no home with an 11-year-old going on thirty to take care of.
There’s a reason Knox doesn’t do complications or high-maintenance women, especially not the romantic ones. But since Naomi’s life imploded right in front of him, the least he can do is help her out of her jam. And just as soon as she stops getting into new trouble he can leave her alone and get back to his peaceful, solitary life.
At least, that’s the plan until the trouble turns to real danger.
Indigo Ridge #1 | by Devney Perry
This book had the perfect mix of mystery and romance. This one was set in a small town in Montana, Winslow and Griffin started out with intense attraction, but the actual love story was sort of a slow burn. My favorite though was the mystery and suspense of the investigation. Perry did a great job of wrapping everything into one story that was very enjoyable.
Synopsis: Winslow Covington believes in life, liberty and the letter of the law. As Quincy, Montana’s new chief of police, she’s determined to prove herself to the community and show them she didn’t earn her position because her grandfather is the mayor.
According to her pops, all she has to do is earn favor with the Edens. But winning over the town’s founding family might have been easier if not for her one-night stand with their oldest son. In her defense, it was her first night in town and she didn’t realize that the rugged and charming man who wooed her into bed was Quincy royalty.
Sleeping with Griffin Eden was a huge mistake, one she’s trying to forget. He’s insufferable, arrogant and keeps reminding everyone that she’s an outsider. Winslow does her best to avoid Griffin, but when a woman is found dead on Eden property, the two of them have no choice but to cross paths. As clues to the murderer lead to one of Quincy’s own,
Griffin realizes Winslow is more than he gave her credit for. Beautiful and intelligent, she proves hard to resist. For him. And the killer.
Today Tonight Tomorrow | by Rachel Lynn Soloman
I was pleasantly surprised with this ya romance. I usually don’t pick up young adult romance books but this one was recommended by Haley Pham said it was good so I grabbed it. And boy was she right!!! I really loved this book. The sweetest story of first loves, Seattle and academic rivals to lovers. (swoon) Y’all, this one had me melting and smiling and rooting for Rowan and Neil. It was precious!! Pick it up!
Synopsis:
Today, she hates him.
It’s the last day of senior year. Rowan Roth and Neil McNair have been bitter rivals for all of high school, clashing on test scores, student council elections, and even gym class pull-up contests. While Rowan, who secretly wants to write romance novels, is anxious about the future, she’d love to beat her infuriating nemesis one last time.
Tonight, she puts up with him.
When Neil is named valedictorian, Rowan has only one chance at victory: Howl, a senior class game that takes them all over Seattle, a farewell tour of the city she loves. But after learning a group of seniors is out to get them, she and Neil reluctantly decide to team up until they’re the last players left—and then they’ll destroy each other.
As Rowan spends more time with Neil, she realizes he’s much more than the awkward linguistics nerd she’s sparred with for the past four years. And, perhaps, this boy she claims to despise might actually be the boy of her dreams.
Tomorrow…maybe she’s already fallen for him.
Better Than The Movies | by Lynn Painter
This book was A.DOR.ABLE. It was everything my heart needed for a little pick me up of teenage love. I enjoyed hearing quotes from my favorite 90s rom-coms, seriously, each one made me smile. The storyline was cute (fairly predictable) nevertheless it was a joy! Wes & Liz were the BEST mc’s. I enjoyed seeing their relationship from childhood grow. Liz reminded me a lot of Laura Jean #iykyk and I loved that about her. Wes Bennet was everything. He was the most adorable, love-able sweet-natured boy. Man?.. kid?. Anywho- This book was delightful.
PS If you have a daughter that enjoys reading and needs a little PG-13 romance novel please let her read this.
Synopsis: Liz Buxbaum has always known that Wes Bennett was not boyfriend material. You would think that her next-door neighbor would be a prince candidate for her romantic comedy fantasies, but Wes has only proven himself to be a pain in the butt, ever since they were little. Wes was the kid who put a frog in her Barbie Dreamhouse, the monster who hid a lawn gnome’s severed head in her little homemade neighborhood book exchange.
Flash forward ten years from the Great Gnome Decapitation. It’s Liz’s senior year, a time meant to be rife with milestones perfect for any big screen, and she needs Wes’s help. See, Liz’s forever crush, Michael, has just moved back to town, and—horribly, annoyingly—he’s hitting it off with Wes. Meaning that if Liz wants Michael to finally notice her, and hopefully be her prom date, she needs Wes. He’s her in.
But as Liz and Wes scheme to get Liz her magical prom moment, she’s shocked to discover that she actually likes being around Wes. And as they continue to grow closer, she must reexamine everything she thought she knew about love—and rethink her own perception of what Happily Ever After should really look like.
NO EXIT | by Taylor Adams
What did I just read?! Holy cow, talk about suspense!!! This book is like a rollercoaster ride; fast-paced, you never know how the turns will go and there is no exit.
This is a dark, edgy thriller with lots of plot twists, a creepy atmosphere, and dark characters.

Trapped in an increasingly dangerous situation, with a child’s life and her own on the line, Darby must find a way to break the girl out of the van and escape.
But who can she trust?
An Honest Lie | Tarryn Fisher
This suspense mixed with secrets, murder, a cult and all set in Vegas. Not in that order. I loved the way Fisher created the character Rainy as likable and complex, she did an amazing job at describing her emotions during this rollercoaster. The pov goes from current to past timelines and took a while to merge… but it was worth the slow start for me. Once you understood the characters, everything TOOK OFF! If you like dark and twisty, then you will enjoy this book! It is a MUST READ for a thriller fan like me! And if you need more reviews, check out my book review page!
