After almost 8 years of knowing this guy and 4 years of dating, Zach finally popped the question! On New Years Eve 2010, we were with a whole bunch of friends on one of those giant party buses. It took us all around town and we finally ended up at American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas. There were a TON of people there, it was so crowded! We got there RIGHT on time for the countdown! As we were counting down all my friends were kinda crowdin’ me and all I kept thinking was “Where is Zach?” I wanted him to be close for our midnight kiss! As we got down to 3-2-1, I turned around to see my friends split to see my love, on one knee holding a beautiful ring up. All I remember is the loud fireworks and seeing Zach’s lips move to form something like “marry me”. In COMPLETE disbelief, I finally worked myself up enough to move towards him and grab the ring! Yes, I put the ring on before I said yes! Haha, I thought I said yes, but I was just so in shock I guess I forgot! Best midnight kiss I’ve ever had BY FAR! It was so romantic and SOOO unexpected!
So, we couldn’t decide on a wedding venue because I’m from San Antonio and Zach is from the Dallas Area. So, we compromised and landed on Austin! We both LOVE the hill country and we found this perfect place called Nature’s Point on Lake Travis. We had a lot of help from friends and family and in only 4 months we had planned the perfect wedding!… For us. I say that because it wasn’t a perfect wedding, but it was EXACTLY what we pictured and what we wanted for our special day.
Complete joy.
Our amazing families.
