Hey guys!
I’m happy to be linking up with Shay and Erika for my New Year’s Goals!
2017 has been off to a great start and I know the more I put my mind to these goals the more I can get done!
Some of these may seem simple but I really want to try and focus on these to make for a successful year.
1. Open my bible every day. That doesn’t mean reading or listening to a devotional, this means really digging into the word DAILY! This has definitely been a struggle of mine and I’m hopeful my new One Year Bible will help me stay on task!
2. Pray more. I have been feeling convicted about this for a while and with the start of the new year I want to put this first in my daily routine. God calls us to be a people of prayer, desperately depending on Him to move and transform hearts and lives and that’s exactly what I plan to do. I think my next read will be The Battle Plan for Prayer, I heard it will revolutionize your prayer life.
3. Memorize scriptures with the kids. I love doing memory verses with my students and now that the kids are old enough to remember and recite I want them echoing scriptures as well. I’ve set up a little space in the dining room to hang these cards so every few weeks we can learn a new verse together. Here are mine if you’d like to download.
4. Work out twice a week. Again, this may seem small to some people who work out 6 times a week but I want to make goals I can actually accomplish. I paused my CG membership until the spring and I’m hoping I can get myself into doing home workouts at least twice during the week. I have been doing some of the Beachbody work outs at home and I really like them, they keep me sweating and motivated! I write the work out in my planner so I am more thoughtful about it throughout the day and it has totally helped! I am expecting it each day and I try my best to make it happen so I’ve actually been doing 3-4 a week.
5. More cooking at home. The Moore’s are really bad about eating out. It’s easier to order out or take the kids out than cooking and cleaning up at home but this goal is to eat at home 4-5 nights a week! So I’ve subscribed to Hello Fresh a few times a month to make it easy peasy! If you want to try it click this link for $40 off!!
6. Read more. I LOVE reading! I just never find time to read. There’s always something else on the to do list that takes priority. So I’m making it a goal to make more time for the things I love and reading is one of them! So far this year I’ve finished Big Little Lies and I’m almost done with It Ends With Us and I’m loving the quiet time, it really helps me relax.
7. More date nights. I say this every year but it’s always an important one. I love spending quality time with my husband and in the middle of our crazy life sometimes we don’t get to catch up. We have joined a little wine club near our house so we are forced to go out and do a flight each month and so far I love that it forces us to get out and spend some time together doing something we enjoy.
Of course there are a million things I want to accomplish this year but these are just a few I hope I can do to keep me on track. Here’s to a happy, healthy 2017!

Joining a wine club sounds like such a great idea! I am absolutely trying to do more date nights too. Happy New Year!

Cooking at home is a big one for us too. We were getting so bad about going out and ordering out. I have found that planning out my meals, and grocery shopping all at once for the week has really helped with us eating in more! Can’t wait to see what 2017 holds for you and your family!

What a great list of goals! I like that you are keeping it real with attainable goals like exercising 2x per week. I did that with one of my goals (reading Bible/devotional) – I said 3x per week because that was more realistic for me. Good luck with the goals in 2017!

I want my children to work on their Bible verses too this year! We have a set of Bible verse cards on display, but so far we haven’t gotten in to the habit of focusing on them! Thanks for the nudge!
