Yup, you read that correctly I am on my way to super, crazy organized classroom! I don’t have EVERYTHING done yet, but I have one major thing done and that is my filing cabinet that holds my unit/themes! I don’t know about you but I HATE seriously dislike filing cabinets. I know they could be useful (especially if I were a 7th grade math teacher) to use for plain paper…. But I’m not! I have construction paper & ziplocks full of crafts and other goodies and filing cabinets just do not work for that stuff. It got to a point where I couldn’t even open my cabinets anymore because they wouldn’t shut!! Ha, how many of you have been there?… It’s ok, no one is judging you!
Here’s what I’m talking about.
YUCK!
So, I got some inspiration from the brilliant ladies at First Grade Fanatics blog, they found these awesome storage bins! (I also did this with my math stations, more to come on that later on!)
So I went to Wal-Mart and I looked like the crazy, hoarding lady!! The size I used were the 25 qt., construction paper and other ziplock baggies fit inside perfectly!!!!
Soooooo, I got about 15 of these little babies and made some cute labels and transferred my files into a tub of goodies. I doubled up some of my units to make sure they all fit and stacked them in my cabinet and VOILA!!
I know what you’re thinking… where are you going to put all of these bins when you’re done with it. Well, the way I see it is I’m taking out a big, junky-looking filing cabinet for a nice, clean stack of organized bins. It’s a win-win! I loved making these cute little labels and I’ll be posting them in my TPT store. BUT I decided to show my followers some love and post them for FREE until the end of June. If you download, please leave me a little comment, thanks!
