One thing is for sure, when we saw this house we fell in love with the open floor plan. Our kitchen opens up to the great room, dining room and main hallway. The cabinets are maple (built this way) and we loved the deep, chocolate look so much that we decided to keep them. I love a white kitchen but this classic style was too good to pass up.
We did, however, change out the old granite to this beautiful quartz and lowered the raised countertop to one GIANT island. It truly opens up the kitchen, making it part of our home’s entertaining space. #realtalk I definitely need a step stool just to wipe the counter area in the center but it was well worth it!

My favorite piece is this small tiered tray. I love changing out this decor every few weeks. It’s an easy way to keep the kitchen feeling refreshed and new.

The kids usually have breakfast on the countertop and we enjoy hosting around the large island.
It’s not perfect, but it’s ours.
