In my first grade classroom we do A LOT of fine motor practice. We manipulate play dough and trace all the time. So what better way than to do this at home with my own kids?
Play dough is such a fun way to keep your kids engaged and creating! We love using different tools to create balls and “snakes” with our hands. It’s a great segway into getting your kiddos turning those pieces into letters.
Here is the only thing you’ll need to be fully prepared for these fun, interactive mats.
1. Play Doh / 2. Laminator /3. Magnetic Erasers /4. Expo Markers / 5. Play Doh Tools
For extra practice you can have also have your child say the letter sound as their shaping the letter for extra practice. With an expo marker they can trace the letters and say what the picture is showing. Lots of discussion while they work is good for retention.
I’m also a tiny obsessed with these beautiful watercolor pictures!
If you’re looking for number practice try these! I love giving the option of creating different things to count and fill the picture. Maddox loves #4 the best! #boys
