Although I’m so excited and ready for back to school, I am not ready for the task of packing lunches. This year I will be packing Mia, Maddox and myself so I will definitely need to plan ahead to make the most of this task. Last year I shared a few ideas for packing lunches and school notes. This year I’m offering a little more detail in our lunch time must haves. Hopefully, it will help make this task easier for you and your kiddos!!
YUMBOX
I have talked about these awesome bento boxes for quite a while now and I still have the same love for them! We have had these for about 3 years and they are still holding up strong. Maddox used his every single day last year and it’s still in brand new condition
The reason I love these so much is because of the suction lid. It allows you to put liquid-type foods inside and it stays in it’s place. Things like yogurt, ranch or hummus are usually the things we put in those small areas. We love the design and keeping each food separate. And it’s way sturdier than tupperware or ziplock bags.
I usually pick up these sweet little figurines at the Dollar Tree to spice up their yumboxes and make it more fun.

If you’re interested in some lunch ideas I made this last year and it helped me with grocery shopping and prepping the kid’s lunch. Check out the post to download your own copy. Or you can follow my Pinterest board of kid’s lunch ideas.
WATER BOTTLES
These thermos water bottles are great for kids. They are sturdy and leak proof. I like the smaller size for toddlers, but if you’re interested in something for sports or outdoor activities THESE are a great option. They have a separate spray section and keep your water colder for longer!
LABELS
We have used Inchbug labels since Maddox was a baby and I’ll tell you why they’re my favorite. The bands are great for baby bottles and they stay on very well. They are easy to wash and stay on tight so you won’t lose it. The stickers are great for items like a yumbox because they are water proof. The sticker will stay on (as long as it’s not picked at) during hand washes or even items that run in the dishwasher. Check them out here.
ICE PACKS
I like using these specific ice packs because they adjust to your lunch box and they are flexible (even when frozen).
LUNCH BOX
We love picking out our new PBK lunch boxes each year. I usually get them monogrammed with their first name or initials to make it easy to pick out from the stack of lunch boxes at school. These are very durable, long lasting lunch boxes that stay in great condition even through the wear and tear of a kid throwing it around. The interior is easily wipeable and each one has straps on the back allowing it to piggyback onto their backpack. We love these lunchboxes.
I hope this helped a little bit with your back to school shopping. I’ll share the how each items fits inside lunchboxes today in my IG stories and I’ll save in my highlights for future reference. I always get asked about these yumboxes so I’m excited to finally share with you guys!
