Okay day 2, of this BLOG HOP is the most exciting CLASSROOM DIGS!!! As most of you know I am getting the privilege of staying home this year with my sweet little man full time. It was so bittersweet leaving my amazing students and co workers, but there is nothing better than watching my boy grow everyday. So here are my photos from this past year. And I will be having some guest bloggers sharing their classroom photos in the coming weeks, so stay posted to get even MORE classroom ideas! So here we go! My favorite thing, my calendar wall! I like to change up certain things on my calendar wall throughout the year to grow with the students, so this is what it looks like in August. In the top center I introduce number houses one by one so that’s why there is only one number house up. Here’s a close up of what it looks like in May. I LOVE introducing the 7 days of creation at the start of the year! We leave it up all year long to refer to and thank God for creating this beautiful earth! Word Helpers are a MUST in our classroom! We take one beanie baby down each week and write anchor charts about what that helper does. I use the word helper at our guided reading table to refer to. Click here to see where I got the idea! I LOVE our library! My favorite part of the library is having books with coordinating characters on top. As a reward, they can read with a character buddy for incentives. You’ll have to wait until Thursday for a detailed look at my incentives. Who doesn’t love a comfy bean bag chair?! Check them out here! A great reminder when learning time! I got these at Oriental Trading a few years ago. Here are some bulletins at the beginning of the year! On the left is our “Student of the Week” bulletin, they bring a poster board and other fun activities throughout the week. On the right is a “Look What We Did” bulletin where I publish their writing! Our Daily 5 rotation chart. This is where we post our prayer requests! I love love love our incentive program, we use paint cups and fuzzies!!! Again, you’ll have to wait until Thursday to see how we use incentives in our class! I got these awesome (very useful) numbers from A Cupcake for the Teacher! People ask me ALL the time where I get these from. And they’re FREE! Thanks Teri! My home away from home, my chair! This where I sit during circle/carpet time! I love being a little lower closer to the kiddos and it is super comfy! I got it at Ikea! Sorry for the mess, but this is my writing station! Again, I bought this product from Teri and I l-o-v-e it! The kids really use it everyday! This is a view of my guided reading shelf. All my books are leveled for easy use! I have labels for these here! This packet includes the a-z labels for the book boxes and a-z stickers for the books. It was a pretty big job, but being organized never felt so good! This is what my cabinet looks like! I had a little hoarding problem and I had to get organized immediately! Check out the post here on how I did it! This is how I display class birthdays. I love it because the students refer to it all year when writing months of the year! One of my absolute MUST HAVES is my rug. It is ah-mazing! I have a slight book box obsession… okay a big book box obsession! And I really like the book boxes and colors from Really Good Stuff. They are little more pricey than the Target Dollar Spot, but they last forever!!!! Here are my student’s book boxes. Again, I used Teri’s free printable numbers to keep it all cohesive. And I also use these book boxes for my reading corner and guided reading books! These book boxes are not from RGS but they are very sturdy and I got them on Amazon. I use these boxes for my books. The books I use for lessons and read alouds. Well there you have it, a close up view of my classroom! If you like something I would love for you to share the love by pinning it! If you’re interested in decorating your classroom in CHEVRON! Check out one of my packets! Chevron Classroom Decor Packet Black and White Alphabet Posters & Classroom Number Set Happy Blog Hoppin’!

Your classroom looks great! That cabinet makes me want to go organize mine…I would hate to post a pic of it! You will NEVER regret staying at home with your children. I was at home with mine for 13 years before going back to work full time. I wouldn't trade it for the world!! Enjoy your year!!
